5 MISTAKES TO DROPPING WEIGHT

I get asked all the time.

“Randy, I have been trying to lose weight
and it’s not working.”

My reply is “Okay, I can help you drop
that weight easily.”

Does it happen? If they listen.
Often? No.
Why not? 5 mistakes people make.

1. Thinking if they eat next to nothing
all day they will drop fat. We need a calorie
deficit but we need the proper ratio of
proteins, fats, and carbs to maintain muscle
and drop fat and control our blood sugar.

2. Trying to be perfect. Ain’t going to
happen. I repeat-ain’t going to happen.
Give yourself some wiggle room and don’t
beat yourself up if you slip up.

3. Doing countless situps to lose belly
fat. Don’t work that way. Either does doing
200 curls and getting a lean arm now does it?
Your body is one unit, can’t divide it up and
spot reduce fat.

4. Doing commando cardio. Short intense
cardio burns more that long moderate cardio.
Yes, watching Oprah and walking on the
treadmill isnt going to cut it.

5. Not doing weight training. You want to
burn fat–build muscle. And no you will not
turn into the hulk ladies. You are talking
about a paper thick sheet of muscle that
will turn your body into a fat burning machine.

There you have it. Simple, effective, proven,
but not “fun.” And it should be work as it is
called working out, not funning out.

So get busy, get with a professional, and
get healthy.

WHERE ARE YOU GOING?

Are you moving forward towards a goal
or are you moving away from it?
You can’t stand still–impossible. So
either you are moving forward are falling
away.

Which is it?

Hopefully you are always in the process
of moving forward. There will be times
where you will slip up, slide back, or just
plain fall on your face. But do you get up
and keep moving forward or do you throw
your hands up in despair, have a pity party,
and start going backwards?

I tell ya, last time I threw a pity party for
myself no one else showed up. Talk about
a lousy party.

Gang, here is the key. Do you have a goal?
If you don’t have a goal get one. make it a
short term goal that you can attain. Let’s start
there. After we succeed with that goal let’s
set another one that will stretch you just a
little. Not alot yet. Now after we succeed there
we will set another goal, just stretching us a little
more.

The reason I want you going in baby steps is
because success breeds success. Achieve a couple
goals and you will have the mind set that you
can achieve the things you put your mind to.
Many people set crazy goals, don’t follow through
and remember their failures when they think about
moving forward the next time.

Hey what happened last time has nothing to do
with this time– other than you thinking you always
fall short. This is why I want you setting small
attainable goals so you get used to succeeding.

So let me hear some of your short term fitness and

will have a 78% higher success rate by having an

Hey I work at it. That's how. I don't eat at McDonalds.
I don't drink beer for fun. I don't eat the stackers!!!!!!

Hey what the heck are you supposed to look like?

Am I bragging about how good I look? Absolutely not.
I can look better.
But how do you look at 25,35,45,55?

It's all about choices gang.
Choose health, choose short satisfaction. Your choice.
I choose health, not slamming down doritos and a coke
for the quick fix of taste. Give me a porterhouse and a
salad and I'll give you a smile.

Slay the felsh, and you slay old age.

Grow old good, don't be going downhill after 25. I plan on
being even healthier this year.

FAT KID DEMONS

As many of you know I was 320 pounds
in the 8th grade. Now not only did students
pick on me, but so did teachers.
One did pay for it, we’ll get to that later.

Well, to this day I fight the “Fat Kid Demons”.
Every day I have clients say “But it’s easy for
you Randy to be fit.”

WHAT!!
I fight EVERY day to keep my mind set right so
I don’t go back and feel like the fat kid I was
in the 8th grade. I have to resist the urge to
feed my face EVERY hour to satisfy an inner
hunger for food. I have been doing this for over
36 years. To this day I fight the “Fat Kid Demons”!
And they are in their first month of trying
to drop 10 pounds for the beach this summer.

I DON”T KNOW WHAT IT IS LIKE TO FIGHT!
Give me a flippin’ break.
Hey you cupcake, “man” up and get your head
on straight and focus on the goal. Heck, if I can
accomplish what I have, ANY ONE can accomplish
their goals.

This may be why I have empathy for overweight
people but also why I don’t accept excuses and
keep their butt to the fire.

“But Randy, you don’t understand, I have a
hard time turing down my aunt’s cheese cake.”

Grow up you weinie.
Now I don’t exactly say that out loud, but I want
to reach out and slap the pout off their face.

Come on gang, if a 320 pound, weak as heck,
low self esteemed, pimply faced kid can go on to
stand on stage with the world’s best bodybuilders,
and can become recognized as one of the strongest
men in the world, you surely can lose that 20
pounds to look good this summer.
So get a goal, write it down, live it, and search
out help from some one who can help you get
where you want to go.

Now back to that teacher that abused the heck
out of me in the 8th grade. Hey we grow up don’t
we Mr. Johnson. Met up with him at a softball game
after I had been training for 2 years.
(I benched 60 pounds when I graduated, 2 years later
pressing 440 pounds–on my way to 700 ask me how)
Well he proceeded to try and score on a play
and I decided to cover the plate for our catcher.
Needless to say he came up swearing and he
went back down faster than he came up. Couple
operations later on his nose he decided it was
time to move on to another town so we didn’t
“run” into each other again.

Now this was in my past and now I am a fun,
lovable, polite, kind, caring husband and Elder
in my church. I have helped hundreds of people
achieve better health and fitness.

Wow, the turns that life takes us on.
Now get busy, get moving, and get fit.

CAR SALESMEN, PHONE COMPANIES, PEPTO-BISMOL

I cannot believe in the economy we have right now
that if you walked into a GM dealership right now
you wouldn’t be treated the best you ever had been
at a dealership.
Well I went to a GM dealer Monday with my Pastor to
look at a car for him. We drove up in a 2008 Audi A8L,
you know a $100,000 sedan.
That should be a salesman’s first clue, but NO, we could
not get anyone to wait on us! Give me a flippin’ break.
No one else on the lot, and no one got up to help us.
Normally we should have been waited on, but come on
GM is about to go belly up, and we have to ask for some
one to help us. Then the guy didn’t know what options,
color interior, or rebates were available. Then he wanted
to know if we were trading up! To what!
“Ah, yea, I’d like to trade this Audi in for a Malibu please.”
Then today, I have been a loyal customer of XO
Communications for 12 years. Moved locations 5 years ago,
then the last 3 months they sent my bill to the old address!
Well, I get 30 bills a month, pay them as they come in. Didn’t
notice XO hadn’t sent me a bill. Well lo and behold they
disconnected my business line. Yea, the number I have had
for 12 years, on my ads, my websites, my cards, my
advertising. And they did it a week ago. Just found out as I
have 2 numbers ringing into the same phone. Well you can
say I was a little miffed. But what happened over the next
7 hours was surreal. I started at 9:09 am calling XO
non-Communications (in my opinion the suckiest phone
company in the USA), and I was literally on the phone for
7 hours today trying to get my number reinstated.
Well, they finally said they could do it for $400.00 and
start over with them. I calmly said they could start giving
themselves an enema with their fiber optics and copper wire.
Hey time for a new phone number and a new phone company.
Hey XO non-Communications–”See ya.”
Now I know why some of thes companies are falling by the
wayside and suckling at the government trough.
If I ran my business that way I would expect to be out
of business. I always believe in going over board in service.
Way over board. But maybe that is why I have been in
business for over 35 years and never out of business.
And this is where the pepto comes in. After dealing with
XO-non Communications and the $6.00 lackeys that
answered the phones I had to deal with a mildly upset stomach.
Where am I going with this blog, only to say that I fully expect
to see the salemen at the GM dealer, and the lackeys at XO
nonCommunications being interviewed on TV soon crying about
how it isn’t fair they are out of work and the government needs
to help them. Hey all of you…………

VICTIMITIS

We have embraced it and become a nation of

victims.

This is where my word victimitis comes from.

Everyone is a victim of something or someone.

No self responsibility. Hey you have to pull your

weight to be a success. You can’t depend on the

government, your employer, or a bank to do your

doings for you.

Heck in my industry over the last 30 years it is not

the fat persons fault they are fat. It’s McDonald’s,

it’s the teacher that gave you a bad grade, it’s a special

ailment that you have.

Give me a flipping break.

You’re fat because you ate too much. Got it.

McDonald’s doesn’t set your dinner table for you-

you have to go to them to get the garbage they sell.

You are the one who chooses to watch 30 hours of

TV a week instead of getting 20 minutes exercise a night.

Oh wait you have bad knees (yea because you haven’t

moved in 10 years and are 60 pounds overweight).

Speaking of excuses maybe I can throw yours away.

I will list my ailments I have or had and you tell me

what your excuse is.

  • Heart attack at 32 years old
  • Hernia (2)
  • Torn Rotators 3 times
  • Ruptured Ulna nerve
  • Bursitis in both shoulders
  • Torn ligiments in both knees
  • 3 Herniated Discs
  • 1 Ruptured Disc
  • A crushed knee (wall fell on me)
  • And your minor aches and pains that come with having
  • all these and being 50 years old.

Oh, did you know I benched 700 pounds at 45 years old,

I train daily, I am on my feet 15 hours a day, and I am in

better condition than when I was a teenager.

So, are you a victim. Are you making excuses for being

lazy, ignorant, and fat. What is your excuse for being in the

condition you are in?

Please tell me why you are fat and it isn’t your fault.

I am looking forward to hearing some whining. Go ahead

YES YOU ARE FAT

Let’s get right to brass tacks here okay. If you bend

over to tie your shoes and you have “stuff” rolling

over your waistband–you are fat.

If you wave at the family goodby and your arm

keeps moving for 10 minutes you’re fat. If you

think it’s okay to wear a size 20 and it looks cute-

you’re fat.

What is it with people admitting they are fat? Like if they

admit it they will have to do something about it or what.

Sheesh, folks 65% of the United States is fat, so odds are

you are fat. So get over it, quit throwing stones at me for

calling you out and get off your fat a*# and do something

about getting rid of that fat. Sheesh, get over yourself.

There was that bold enough for you. Did I hurt your feelings,

well I hope I lit a fire under your butt and you are ready to get

fit.
